Remember Verse 24?

Worship in All We Do

Yes, We Know. Now what?

Our goal must be to empower others to do what is right and good for them, and to bring them into spiritual maturity.” — Romans 15:2 The Passion Translation (TPT)

This verse is one that we take very seriously. It’s our song. It’s our cry to the world as we navigate God’s love in Worship. It resonates in our hearts as servants of the Highest God. We want so much for the Bride of Christ to be ready for His return.

We work, eat, sleep and pray in Worship. We sing we dance, and we cry as we keep our eyes on Him.

Is it enough?

Is it righteous? Is it my truth? Only you can answer these questions. Can you say, “yes”? Can I?

God does have expectations for us regarding Worship.

God wants our whole being to Worship Him. We have learned in church that we must do everything for and to the Lord. We have experienced renewed minds as we consciously remember to Worship Him in our day. This is good. But have we surrendered all we can?

Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others.  For we know that we will receive a reward, an inheritance from the Lord, as we serve the Lord Yahweh, the Anointed One!” — Colossians 3:23-24 (TPT)

The beauty of this verse and what it really means is knowing that we will receive a reward from Jesus. Personally, I can forget that.

I can easily fall into the trap of only remembering verse 23.

Writing & Sketchbooks

My Sketchbooks are Part of Me

These are a few pages from my current Sketchbook. I love to free write, brainstorm, do mind-maps, study and practice sketching for my next Sculpture.

I’ve written this way for over 20 years now. I’ll never forget the day I started. I was young and stressed about something happening at the Ad Agency where I was working. I took my lunch to an old park and sat under a huge tree.

I was journaling my morning when I heard God say that I needed to keep my journals and sketchbooks because someone would need them in the future. I listened but didn’t really understand. I now know that I need them.

Today I have tubs full of them and I occasionally go back to read or find some idea I had one day long ago. It always feels weird, I admit. It’s like I was a different person who wrote all of the words and sketched all of those drawings. Sometimes it feels surreal.

It feels that way because I change and grow. My perspective moves into different and newer places. So, when I hear that people don’t change, I know it’s a lie. I change. Jesus changes me.  And if He changes me He can change you too.

Purpose: We Can Change

Our struggles eventually shape us into the creative people we are and will be — feelings and all. I assure you, there are opportunities to grow and thrive in our current fallen human condition. If I can do it, so can you. No matter the experience, whether perceived as good or bad, we can use it to create positive change in our lives and in ourselves. What do they say? It’s something like, “It’s not the fall, it is how you get back up that matters.”

Change is easier said than done, especially when for example: others add their two-cent advice before I ask them to, and/or I feel an unrighteous obligation to follow someone else’s lead. I can take these things and flip them to be positive. I can listen to advice before making my decision, and I can always say no when I feel I could be led in the wrong direction. I can use either side of the coin. It’s up to me to decide which way to go, or what my perception will be — positively for the situation or negatively. I’ve got be honest with myself regarding my motives and the care that I need at the time.

Fear of Man: “If you can’t beat ‘um, join ‘um.” It’s a compromise to repent for.
